The 2011 Offshore league started with the 1st leg on Saturday 2 April.We had 20 anglers and 6 boats enter the first leg – thanks to the following skippers and their crew:

Y Knot ------     Hilmi Daniels                    Piranha -----Piranha

Rainbow Runner ------  Dave Estment     Castaway -----Ron Dunn

There had been some reports of larger Yellow fin around but none of our boats managed to find them so mainly targeted the smaller Yellows and Long fin. Unfortunately ABC did find a larger class fishand won the day.

Congrats to Mike Pulcella for catching the First Yellow fin of the Season

After Leg 1 the top club anglers were:

Mike Pulcella (18th),

Gareth Strydom (19th),

Ian Robinson (20th).

Top boats were:

Piranha (7th),

Rainbow Runner (8th),

White Marlin (9th).

CBSC is lying 3rd among the clubs.

The 2nd leg was to take place on 16/17 April but gale warnings and heavy seas over the entire

weekend cancelled that leg.The 3rd leg is scheduled for the weekend of 28/29 May and I will report on the outcome of that event in

the next magazine.I would appreciate hearing from other skippers who will be putting their boats in this year. I would also like to know of any members who are looking for a spot on a boat for the league season.A maximum of 6 legs will be fished out of the allocated days. Either the Saturday or Sunday will be fished – not both
