  INTER CLUB RULES

CBSC 2011 INTER CLUB INVITATIONAL

RULES AND REGULATIONS

VENUE:

The tournament will be fished from Rumbly Bay, Millers Point and from Simons Town.

DATES:

The Fishing Dates will be:

24, 25, 26, 27, 28, and 29 October 2011 weather permitting. (4 days to be fished)

Opening Function:

Sunday 23rd October 2011 @19H00 for 19h30. Dress smart casual, club colours, and provincial colours.

Closing Function:

Saturday 29th October 2011 @19H00 for 19H30. Dress smart casual, club colours, and provincial colours.

BOAT DRAW:

Sunday 23rd October 2011 during opening function.

ENTRY FEES: (Per team of three anglers)

Club Teams R4 500.00

Fuel Deposit R9 000-00 per team

This will include:

Breakfast and dinner on the fishing days 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, October 2011.

Lunch Boxes.

Meals at the opening and closing functions.

Teams to make provision themselves for additional beverages, not included in the lunch boxes.

REGISTRATION:

On arrival the captain of each team must register with the Tournament Treasurer Derek Muller, supply their full names and addresses, contact details and undertaking to complete the tournaments statistics form, sign the indemnity form, supply the names of their local news papers in their town and/or provinces.

TEAMS:

Each team will consist of 3(three) anglers maximum, who will fish on the boat as allocated by the boat draw.

BRIEFING:

There will be a team captains and skippers meeting only, to elect a weather committee.

TOURNAMENT WEATHER COMMITEE

The weather Committee will consist of the following persons:

1 The Tournament Director CBSC

2 The Radio and Safety Officer CBSC

3 An elected team captain

4  An elected skipper

FISHING TIMES:

1               Breakfast from 04H45 AM daily.

2          First day there will be a mass start in front of CBSC Club house          from boat rock @ 07H00 AM, with the blessing of the fleet.

3               On day 2,3 and 4 departure time 06H30 AM daily in front of CBSC.

4               Lines-up for the 24, 25, 26, 27, 28,  October 2010 will be 15H00. For the 29th October 2011 it will be 14H00.

5 The control boat will call or relay lines-up daily. Any fish still being fought, which was hooked prior to this call, must be reported to the control boat immediately and/or as soon as the skipper can make his call on the radio. All skippers must confirm lines-up after the call and they must specify the number of fish on board.

6  One (1) hour extra time will be allowed for fighting fish, from the time of the lines-up call .

No extra time will be allowed on the last day.

7 In the event of an early lines-up call for reasons of safety at sea no extra time will be allowed.

8 No additional time will be allowed for late launching, mechanical failure, bad weather or for a medical casevac.

WEATHER:

The weather committee will make a decision on the weather at 05H00 every day. They may decide to call the day’s fishing off or limit the area of fishing for any day if the weather conditions so require, or extend the weather call an hour later. Final call to be made 09H00 on each day.

LINECLASS:

The tournament will be fished on 15kg line class. No other line class heavier than 15kg may be taken on board except as required for traces. Line samples and leader lengths may be taken at any time for testing and measuring by the Tournament Committee

RODS:

An angler may take four (4) rods on board, but may only have two (2) lines in the water at any time.

BAIT:

Only bait supplied by the official bait supplier of the Tournament Organizers may be used, no teams are allowed to supply their own bait.  Bait storage will be provided.

BOATS:

No teams are allowed to supply their own boats, only tournament boats are allowed to be used.

MINIMUM WEIGHTS:

The minimum weight for yellowfin and longfin tuna is 10kg.

SCORING:

The WPDSAA points scoring system will apply except that shark will not count.

The tournament will be fished to IGFA rules. Anglers and skippers must make sure of the rules. (Rule 8 No rod or reel switches allowed when fighting fish.)

WEIGHING:

All fish weighed on the official scale must be clearly marked and free of blood. Each fish must be individually marked, weighed and recorded against the name of the angler on the official weigh sheet. Any fish that cannot be allocated to an angler will be disqualified. The skipper and team captain must sign the official weigh sheet. 5:1, 6:1, 7:1, 8:1, 9: 1 etc merit certificates will be issued. Scales will be closed after the last fished has been weighed.

NOTE:

The organizers will assume that all anglers and skippers are familiar with all the rules of the tournament and IGFA rules.

OBJECTIONS:

Any objection must be immediately lodged with controlling radio station of CBSC and/or CBSC Tournament Director Stuart Meiklejohn. The nature of the objection need not be mentioned. At the earliest opportunity on the day that the objection was lodged over the radio, it must be submitted in writing to the Tournament Director. A deposit of R500-00 (Five Hundred Rand) must accompany this objection. The deposit will be refunded if the objection is valid. The Tournament Committee will make a decision on the matter and their decision will be final.

DUTIES:

  1 It is the duty of each to team/angler  assist the skipper with the launching, retrieving, refueling and cleaning of the boat.

2. Each angler must off-load his/her own fish and place it on the scale for weighing after which they must load their fish into the fish truck.

3.  Each skipper must act as a referee and ensure the rules are strictly observed
